An Integrative and Relational Approach
The Working Alliance:
It's like teaming up with you to tackle the challenges you're facing. We agree on what we need to do in our sessions, whether it's talking things through or working on specific goals. It's all about building trust and working together to make our time together effective.
The Transferential/Countertransferential Relationship:
This is about the feelings and expectations you might have about me, based on your past experiences with people. I might also have my own feelings and reactions to you, based on my own experiences. Understanding these feelings can help us understand each other better and ourselves.
The Reparative/Developmentally-Needed Relationship:
It's like providing you with the emotional support and understanding you might have missed out on in earlier relationships. I aim to give you the care and attention you need to feel better and heal from past hurts.
The Person-to-Person Relationship:
It's about me being real and genuine with you. I'm not just a professional; I'm also a human who cares about you. I show empathy and honesty to create a safe space for you to open up.
The Transpersonal Relationship:
This goes beyond just you and me. It's about exploring deeper questions about life, spirituality, and meaning together. It's like connecting on a deeper level and finding purpose and understanding beyond the everyday stuff.
